A wedding is more than a day of celebration, it is a profound moment, a portal into the next phase of your life as a couple. Amidst the beautiful noise of planning, the flowers, the guest lists and the logistics it is easy for some of your intentions to be momentarily lost.
As a Modern Day Alchemist, I help you see through the chaos and return to the "Why" by hosting a Couples Talisman Ceremony.
Through thoughtful and intimate conversation, we find your most poignant words, emotions, shared memories and ideas for the future and weave them into a unique, sacred ink artwork.
This is your Talisman, a spiritual heirloom that grounds your relationship, reminds you of what matters, and shows the way forward long after the last toast has been made.

“It was such an incredible and truly unique experience for us. With our wedding being as hurried as it was, your session was one of the only opportunities we had to slow down and set intentions for our partnership.
We really didn’t know what to expect coming into it. You put us at ease immediately and made the session approachable, even for H who is not often very vocal about his inner world.
We began by telling you our story as a couple and it was fun to be able to reflect and reminisce about our big and small moments before our wedding day.
Afterwards you asked us to begin thinking of words that held meaning for our relationship. It was actually pretty difficult in the beginning to think of words we had in common since as individuals, H and I are at complete opposite sides of the spectrum. But with you we were able to discover a few words that really described our strengths as complimentary partners.
You also had us take time and think about our hopes for the future of our relationship and family.
Throughout the process you painted the words onto a cloth and asked us to think of colors we associated with the words. It was fun to brainstorm colors together and learn how H and I visualized the words and concepts so differently. Associating a color with a word is such a simple thing but it really does give you insight into your partners mind in a way you don’t usually have access too.
What was really powerful in the end was to be able to see all of our words - our present and our hopes for the future intertwined together in a beautiful painting, completely unique to us.
I loved the space you made for us to connect before our wedding and to have it hanging in our home as we make new memories after our wedding.
I really can’t stress enough how unique the process is and how connected you feel afterwards.”
What are the Talismans like?
I use coloured inks to write words of meaning onto a piece of plain calico. The words are then blotted to create shapes, symbols and patterns which meld and weave together as more words are added. The last additions are random drops of white ink to allow the colours to blend and the shapes that are most needed to come through.
The process that underpins the Couple’s Talisman Ceremony
Intentions & Signing – Alex opens the ceremony, helping the couple set their intention for the Talisman. The couple each signs their name as the first words of the piece.
Connect & Co-create – Through a thoughtful enquiry process and guided reflection, more words and colours are added representing important aspects of their relationship and connection.
Deepen & Alchemise – As the session progresses, the couple feel more deeply connected to the moments that held meaning for them and to each other, seeing them displayed in shapes and symbols in the Talisman.
Anchor & Receive – Alex closes the ceremony, recapping the words, phrases and colours chosen. The couple take home their Talisman as a reminder of what matters to them and the magic of the session.
